How WaterTrack handles your hydration records, app settings, optional analytics, and connected services.

Effective date: November 1, 2026 · Operated by MPM Ventures LLC

At a glance: WaterTrack does not require an account. Your hydration entries are stored locally on your device. Optional Firebase Analytics can be disabled in the app's settings. You control any backup files you export and whether to grant Health Connect permissions.

1. Who operates WaterTrack

WaterTrack is an Android hydration-tracking application operated by MPM Ventures LLC (“we,” “us,” or “our”). This policy explains how information is handled when you use the WaterTrack app and our website at watertrackapp.com.

2. Information stored on your device

WaterTrack stores hydration entries, including amounts and entry dates and times, on your device so it can calculate daily totals, progress, and history. The app also stores settings such as your daily goal, preferred units, appearance, quick-add amounts, reminder configuration, and analytics preference.

WaterTrack does not require you to create an account and does not offer WaterTrack-operated cloud synchronization of your hydration history. The app's ordinary hydration logging does not send individual water amounts or hydration-entry timestamps to our Firebase Analytics events.

Android operating-system backup features, if enabled on your device, may back up some app data according to your device and Google account settings. This is separate from WaterTrack's in-app JSON export feature.

3. Optional usage analytics

WaterTrack uses Google Analytics for Firebase to understand general app usage and improve reliability and features. Analytics collection is disabled by default in the app configuration and can be controlled through the Share usage analytics setting.

When enabled, analytics may collect app interaction events such as water_logged, goal_reached, reminder_enabled, and backup_created, as well as Firebase-generated information such as app-instance identifiers, device and app information, session data, and general engagement events. Our custom events do not include individual hydration quantities, hydration-entry timestamps, or hydration log contents.

When you disable analytics, WaterTrack instructs Firebase to stop analytics collection and stops logging its custom analytics events. Disabling collection does not necessarily delete information previously collected by Google. Google's handling of analytics information is described in its Privacy Policy and Firebase privacy information.

4. Health Connect

WaterTrack offers an optional integration with Android Health Connect. If you choose to grant permission, WaterTrack can write hydration information to Health Connect. Health Connect access is not required to use WaterTrack's core tracking features.

You can manage or revoke WaterTrack's Health Connect permissions through Android's Health Connect settings. Data written to Health Connect is managed within that service and is subject to your device's Health Connect controls. WaterTrack does not use Health Connect hydration data for advertising or send it as custom Firebase Analytics event parameters.

5. Backup and restore files

WaterTrack lets you export a JSON backup containing hydration entries and supported app settings. You choose where to save or share that file using Android's file interface. Anyone with access to an unencrypted backup file may be able to read its contents, including your hydration amounts and entry timestamps, so keep backups in a location you trust.

When you restore a backup, WaterTrack reads the file you select to recover compatible entries and settings. Files stored with third-party storage providers are subject to those providers' privacy practices.

6. Sharing, security, and retention

We do not sell your hydration history. Your locally stored entries remain on your device unless you choose to export them or enable an integration that transfers data. Firebase may process optional usage analytics data as described above.

Locally stored records remain until you remove them, clear app data, or uninstall the app, subject to any device backups or exported copies you have made. Firebase analytics data is retained according to the applicable Firebase/Google Analytics configuration and policies. No method of electronic storage or transmission can be guaranteed completely secure.

7. Your choices and controls

  • Analytics: Turn Share usage analytics on or off in WaterTrack settings.
  • Hydration history: Edit or delete individual entries in the app.
  • Health Connect: Grant or revoke access through Android settings.
  • Backups: Choose where exported files are saved and delete copies from those locations when no longer needed.
  • Notifications: Change reminder settings in WaterTrack and Android system settings.

If you have questions about privacy or requests concerning information we may control, email us using the contact information below.

8. Children's privacy

WaterTrack is a general hydration-tracking app and is not specifically directed to children. We do not knowingly seek to collect children's personal information through the app. If you believe a child has provided personal information to us, please contact us.

9. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy when WaterTrack's features, services, or legal requirements change. The effective date at the top of this page will be updated when revisions are published.
